About

My name is Jim Gogov. In 1977, I graduated as a Cabinet Maker from the Technical College of Wood Processing and Interior Decoration, Sofia, Bulgaria. My further specialisation as a polisher began in the polishing section of the largest furniture manufacturer "Moscow".

In 1980 I arrived in Australia and for the next ten years was exploring many and varied business opportunities. In 1990 in the midst of furniture making, interior decorating and antique repairs, I was approached by a piano technician about piano restorations. He was so pleased with the results that soon many other pianos came my way. A workshop with a leading piano carrier company followed together with a steady flow of orders from other piano technicians. Smaller piano shops started using my services as well and, in a few years, I was working extensively with the leading music store, Brash's Music.

Currently I work with the majority of piano shops such as Australian Piano Warehouse, Australia Piano World, Carlingford Music Store, Gospel Pianos and Steinway Gallery. Teaching institutions such as UNI of Sydney, UNI of NSW, UNI of Technology. King's School, Ravenswood School, Braker College, Scot's college, Reddam House. I also often repair at performing venues such as Sydney Opera House, Sydney Recital Hall and Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
